Plenty of Propositions posted on Tuesday, 13 May 2008

Two dueling propositions, 98 and 99, are likely to garner the lions’ share of political advertising dollars and therefore the most dissembling. For my money, I favor 98 which would make it very difficult for government satraps to willy-nilly abscond with your property. Proposition 98 also phases our rent control-a very good thing, but therein lies the rub.

AARP, Governor Shrivernegger and assorted big government types are pushing 99 because it is more reasonable i.e. does not phase out rent control and allows continuing government theft.

If you think the Kelo v. City of New London US Supreme Court decision was a disaster as I do, vote for 98 and ignore the silliness you are likely to hear from the 99 proponents.
